I recently spent a few days in Berlin, just enough to experience its vibrant energy, but not quite enough to visit all the modern and contemporary architectural landmarks featured in the ArchDaily guide. However, I did visit several design shops and quickly realized that this could become my main impression of Berlin and the focus of what I’ll write about.
Concept stores in Berlin have evolved to offer not only unique fashion, design, and lifestyle products but also engaging social experiences. Many of these stores host events and gatherings, while others provide cozy cafés where visitors can enjoy a coffee while exploring their offerings.
Here’s a look at the my top 5 concept stores in Berlin and what makes them special:
Voo Store, located in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, offers more than just a curated selection of high-end fashion and unique home goods, it also features a chic café and hosts a variety of events. The store’s minimalist and industrial design sets a stylish backdrop for its focus on sustainability and emerging designers. It’s a vibrant space where you can enjoy a coffee, shop for exclusive items, and engage in Berlin’s dynamic cultural scene.
The Store X Berlin, situated inside the Soho House Berlin, blends classic and contemporary styles, reflecting the Soho House vibe. Here, you’ll find Ettore Sottsass’s iconic designs, like the Ultrafragola mirror and Carlton Library, alongside his Glass Works collection. You can also chill in their café, enjoying great coffee and pastries in a stylish and inspiring setting.
Bikini Berlin, designed by UAU Collectiv and completed in 2014, is more than just a concept store, it’s an entire shopping mall located in Charlottenburg. It features a mix of fashion, design, art, food, and culture in a unique and innovative space.
NOVeL – Concept Store Berlin is a charming boutique that seamlessly blends design with sustainability. It offers a curated selection of designer clothing and home accessories from various designers. Its intimate atmosphere makes it a standout destination for those seeking unique, ethically made pieces. On their Instagram profile, you can see how charming they are.
Baerick Concept Store offers a perfect blend of timeless style and modern design with thoughtful curation. Their collection stands out with its elegant and innovative approach to design. I’m particularly delighted by their planters, which adds a unique touch to their carefully selected offerings.
If you’re planning a short trip to Berlin, I highly recommend stopping by one of these concept stores, even if just for a coffee, to soak in the city’s creative energy.
What a great guide for me, I’m planning to visit Berlin next week, and this post is exactly what I wanted. Thank you!
Thanks Bogdan, I’m glad you like it :))
